I love and bought a Leirvik King size bed frame - 180 x 203cm. However Ikea do not make a firm mattress to fit. The best they have is a medium ( Sultan Hjelmas) which I felt was too squishy and I preferred the Hi, Love this forum and Ikea but this is my first post and am looking for some advice please. I fell in Sultan Heggedal. I would like to get a good mattress, but the King Size mattresses in Australia are a 3cm wider and longer at 183 x 203. So has anyone else bought a normal mattress for an Ikea bed? Will 3cm be too much to "squish" into the Leirvik frame? And what about the Hjelmas mattress. Has anyone got one and if so would it be ok for a largish couple? I don't knoww hat to do and don't really wish to take the bed back as the Ikea salesman unhelpfully suggested today as I LOVE IT. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have now solved this issue somewhat so am posting this in the hope of helping others.
I ended up buying an Australian King Size Latex Mattress which fits perfectly with minor squishing.
I also tried our old Queensize Innerspring on the Ikea bed and again it fitted lengthways very snugly. (the length is the same as a King size) therefore a king size innerspring may also fit.breadth wise as the difference in the size is the same (3cm)
Other options I looked at is having a mattress specifically made. Some mattress companies doe this or otherwise there are companies who make mattresses for caravans. Not sure how costly this would be,
