Help with PAX wardrobe design

Hi

I have searched the forums and not found an answer so I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I want a PAX sliding wardrobe to fit a space of 264cm. I understand I cannot get the exact size so was looking to get one at 250cm. I like the PAX MALM black/brown with mirror glass problem is it only comes in 200cm. Question is could I attach a PAX 50cm frame at one end with a Vikedal mirror door that opens out the way to make the unit 250cm?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi

I don't see why not, but you would have to make sure that the sliding doors were adjusted correctly so that they cannot hit the mirror door.

Welcome to IKEAFANS, freeman.

I totally agree with BRB , but I would go a step further and suggest you use some sort of bumper between the sliding and hinged doors to make sure they don't contact each other. This would be most likely to happen along the bottom of the doors, where there is more play in the sliding doors.

Thanks very much for the replies. I'm not quite sure what I could use as a bumper - do you have any suggestions?

Re: Help with PAX wardrobe design

You'll probably find small bumpers at your local hardware or big box store, which will come in various shapes, colors and sizes. Or, if you're close enough to IKEA, they most likely have a supply of extra bumpers like the ones that come with Integral hing packs.

Another possibility is some foam tape that is sold in rolls, like other (masking, scotch, packing, etc.) tapes are - it comes in varying lengths and widths, and also different densities and colors. You'd need a piece 8' long and 1/2" wide.
