Well, I called Ikea and was told the only thing that they could do was put my name on a "spare parts" list and if they ever had those broken parts available, they would call me. The rep said that he had no idea when the parts would be ready- could be a week or could be a year. So...I dismantled our bed (since we couldn't sleep on it) and put it in storage.
I am quite disappointed that there was nothing else they could do, considering I had the bed less than one year. I emailed Ikea's customer service through their website but they never replied.
I have gotten a lot of furniture from Ikea in the past but I'm not sure if I will buy any more furniture from them...
