Timeline
I was originally planning on the main construction happening this week but that wasn't going to work well so the first week in January is project time. The kitchen will be the priority but we hope to get a good chunk of work done on the bathroom as well....
Here are shots from the weekend demolition project. We converted a full wall between kitchen and living room to a half wall. My Dad (shown in the in-process shot) helped me out. As expected, the roof bowed in so we had some fun shimming up supports then using a hydraulic jack to straighten the ceiling...
So the actual bathroom demolition isn't supposed to start until the IKEA items get here in two to three weeks... however, I was looking around the Awful Bathroom today and couldn't help but pick at a bit of paint...
A chip led to a patch, a patch led to a sheet, and soon there were sheets...
Well, it's done. The IKEA order is in and charged. I worked with Pamela. She automatically organized the components by the cabinet which made checking over the draft order easy. I found a couple of changes but the initial draft was pretty clean. She was great with follow-up too, calling when I hadn't...
After our client work, we hit the IKEA in Round Rock again yesterday before leaving Austin. Tried the Swedish meatballs for the first time - pretty yummy. We looked at the office furniture section for work and I bought a couple sets of drapes.
