since last time, the cabs have been ripped out! it looks like a total disaster zone! i hired a handyman to do that along with some other repairs on the house. he said he'll have everything looking normal by monday, and then on tuesday im having a cleaning lady come and deal with the aftermath.

when i saw the kitchen after the demo, i gulped. i am in over my head. .

well in any case it's now definitely, undeniably, and certifiably a learning experience. the biggest home project i've ever done by far. quite frankly it's exhilarating. we're still on the fence about the ikea cabs versus the solid wood cabs at 2x the cost. it's a small kitchen so we can (barely) handle the cost difference. we'd get fewer solid cabs and keep our old microwave so it's also not apples to apples.

so many little things you notice when the kitchen is actually ripped out. im going to have to do some pipe fitting and cutting since the new sink isn't going to be exactly lined up with the old drain.

learning experience. walking into that kitchen when he'd 90% ripped it out was quite an experience.
