Figuring up the cost of our remodel

Our original budget was $10,000. Here's our breakdown for our 10x20 foot kitchen/dining room, since I had a hard time finding info like this out there, hopefully someone will find it useful.

Ikea:
$5600 - 8 base cabinets, 2 high cabs, 9 wall cabs, 2 Perfekt shelves, all Lidingo...

Fridge wall is done

Finally got in our last few hinges, so we finished the wall of cabs around the fridge. It looks so nice with the stone, we're really, really pleased. Almost time for before and after pics!

Flor area rug

We needed a square rug, and Flor seemed like a great choice. I'm loving the way it looks and feels. It seems like the pieces will stay together pretty snugly too. The color is Ginger and the style is Velvet Twist. I also skirted our old rolling butcher block cart to hide the cat box.

A quick update

We finished the grout, which really changed the look of the backsplash. We sealed the tiles first, since we wanted to keep as many of the pits and rough edges as we could.


I was worried it wouldn't...
