Another tiny step in direction of a new kitchen for my mother.

Here are the 2 pretty much final layout for the kitchen.

I decided on a combination of Nexus BRN-BLK and Abstrakt White Uppers. I almost decided on solely Nexus BRN-BLK due to budgetary reasons (a $350 difference)...

Mom's Appliances

Mom's Kitchen - Planning Time

I've done a preliminary layout that I would like feedback on.

First, my mission statement.
I would like the kitchen to be contemporary, but light and functional.

The back can be made out of front doors or several side panels, but if your looking for all the way side panel for the sides Ikea is the wrong place for that, you'll need to make a costume side panel to get this sort of ending:

I started with the idea that I would get a 30" cooktop, just because that seems to be the standard size available to us in North America. However, after seeing how nice and modern the European kitchens are, and how the standard there is 24", I am almost ready to get both a 24" cooktop...
