Writing Articles

Posted Jan 9th, 08 at 3:27 pm by madp67
Actually, writing an article is not that different than posting a thread. They are moderated, but this is really just to be sure that we don't end up with articles writ lk ths. Can U C da prob? Some key differences include the addition of some required fields, like those required when you upload photos and the ability to use Page Breaks to break the article into bite-sized pieces.

To start, just go to the appropriate forum - in this case Before and Afters and click on New Entry. If you want to include a header image, you'll need to have one sized to 100x100px. on your harddrive - you'll be able to upload directly from there. Title your article and then type away (or cut and paste from Word or another word processing program). Use the New Page button to insert page breaks and give the pages appropriate names.

You can include references, such as websites or books, etc. if you like also. You can also use thumbnail photos from your galleries on IKEAFANS, or drop in images from elsewhere (though we encourage photos from the galleries, of course!) and use the float buttons to wrap the text around your images.

As always, feel free to ask questions. If you feel the articles area needs a better writeup, please feel free to let me know or....heck, write one!
