I couldn't help myself - I had to put all those doors on. I don't have the countertop installed (or even ordered), but I had to see what it all looks like. I left off one door because I still need to add a filler piece (I know I'll get there eventually), but here it is:

My first cabinet!

Bob the handyman got here yesterday to continue work on the electrical, plumbing, gas line... all that stuff that is a little too intimidating for me to do myself. It was the day he was going to switch around the sink pipes so we could swap the placement of the sink and the dishwasher.

What happened to my house?

As I write this, there are noises coming from my kitchen. Loud, unpleasant noises. Walls being hammered. Power tools being used. It's a little freaky.

Our cabinets are in!

I got a call from Ikea yesterday. Our cabinets are ready to be picked up! And today, I got three giant packages from Fed Ex – our faucet, our Lee Valley blind corner unit and our knobs – ordered separately, but arrived on the same day. What a great week so far
