We spent the early part of the 4th of July adding Splatgirl's idea for Aluminum L deco strip after seeing that thread re-emerge earlier this week. Only took us 9 mos to get around to it but glad we did it, it's easy to do and looks terrific.
Here it is, the final blog post. We're done with the kitchen (except hanging our roman shade - and making the roman shade for that matter). I can't believe this is our kitchen and again, thank the great people on this board for sharing their experiences and expertise. Photo overload ahead. ...
So this weekend we were able to eat in (and maybe more importantly clean!) our very own kitchen thanks to having our plumber/electrician work a full day on Thursday. I need to get everything set up to take better photos.
Things are moving right along, even quicker than I expected. I thought the Ikea installers were insanely organized, well if they ever met the tile installation crew I used they'd be able to remodel the entire US in a week (or something fast like that ).
The workers just left and wow, I have a kitchen. I thought I had a kitchen after I got cabinets but now I think I really have a kitchen. Imagine how delirious I'll get when I have a backsplash or dare I say it... running water?
