I can't wait to be rid of those nasty over varnished cabinets.

We spent the weekend emptying out the kitchen and setting up a temporary kitchen in the dining room.

The, Sunday afternoon we headed to Ikea in East Palo Alto. Although the store was packed, we had no trouble walking right up to a kitchen rep and handing them our draft order.

Our rep was awesome and asked me if I wanted soft close hinges. How could I have forgotten something so obvious! Of course!

She then split the order so we could pick up the take home items now (we have to wait about a week for the red doors/panels)

We paid, went and had a great early dinner at Gordon Biersch, and then came back to find our order all ready to go.

I did inventory while my dh loaded it all up. The order was perfect!

So I hope I don't jinx myself, but so far the whole ordering process from ikea has been a breeze! I am sure most of that is due to me planning this for over a year, and spending lots of time on this site.
