Ah gee....thanks for asking me to post knitting pictures! I can't wait til I have a kitchen to play with, but I am going to have to recognize that it will seriously cut into my knitting time, huh? I have a "system" and everything, where I rotate through 4 active projects and am only allowed to knit on each for about half an hour at a time, unless there is a serious deadline. I don't have any babies yet, so I have the luxury of that thing called "free time"...
I'll try to keep these not TOO huge...
Hmmmm (scrolling through albums)....recently completed baby sweater and hat, to be given away at penguin cake baby shower today.....
Vest pattern I designed (had some errors, sorry to the knitters who tried to decipher it!!!)
Alpaca hats!! Very warm....
Crazy coat I'm making that I have to get motivated about. All I need is the facing along the opening and I'm done. Need to finish it. It's a bit out there but I think I'll get some use out of it with jeans and simple tops.
No, Ro....THANK YOU! Those are fantastic! I can't believe the details...the baby sweater and hat are adorable, the vest and coat are absolutely incredible! The hats...so cute!
How much time does it take (you) to complete an average project? Say a baby sweater like the one in your picture. Detailed for sure, but probably no more so than your average given what I've seen.
Do you sell your knitting or do it solely for personal wear and/or gifting?

I don't knit "professionally", although I did get paid a bit to make the pattern and sample for the purple vest. Never again, it's too much hassle and it works out to something like 2$/hour. I prefer to make sweaters for the hubby (he appreciates them because he sees how long they take and knows he'd get in trouble if he didn't), myself, and socks for everyone else. Hand-knit socks feel awesome!
I started on the baby sweater about a month ago, the purple vest took me two months and I've been working on and off on that green and yellow coat for two years. If I did the baby sweater nonstop, it'd probably take me about 15-20 hours, I'd guess. I just made a big, cushy, wrap cardigan for work in hot pink bulky yarn that only took a week.
Still trying to figure out how to incorporate fiber arts into the kitchen design.
Wow! I'm very impressed... I love the baby sweater and the hats look so warm!
My mom (a retired home-ec teacher) tried to teach me to knit and gave up... as a lefty it's a lost cause.

My MIL (much to Tigger's surprise) knits and she's a leftie. That said, I'm a righty and I don't think I could do it. Ever. I'm VERY impressed.

I think it was the combo of a rightie teaching a lefty... She's a patient person and taught for 30+ years but I was too much

I'm a lefty who can't knit because she was taught by a righty...I am stunned by the beautiful work you do, Ro! Absolutely gorgeous, professional, you are truly a master of your craft!
I knit righty and lefty for those multi-color patterns. One color in one hand, one in the other. But that took a *long* time for me to be able to do and my tension isn't great yet. I've convinced myself that this type of activity will keep my brain working longer and healthier than it would otherwise. Makes up for my lack of interest in carrots. No, wait, those are for your eyes, right?
All I can say is.......WOW!! I'm lucky to sew on a button. No talent in the sewing department. I am a lefty and my mom (a righty) never had the patience to teach me some things. They are absolutely beautiful. You really should consider doing this professionally.
