Laurie- what a great link- and what a great kitchen to kick it off with! Love the marble and the "dresser" look. I choose this kitchen verbatim for Garden of Darwin.
Aah yes, I believe I've stollen a couple kitchen "favorite" pics. from Susan's collection to add to my own. There's plenty at this site to choose from, so happy hunting.
After searching the word "IKEA" on this site, there are some negative entries discussed about it by a Susan Serra, CKD. From what I get from some of the conversations, she doesn't really know much about IKEA kitchen cabinetry.
Hmmm, well......then we shall have to prove her to be silly, yes? Somehow, I think the best way to prove her wrong would be to re-create one of those inspiration pics in IKEA cabs.
Seriously, that is disappointing, but I think we are all (sadly) used to folks taking IKEA cabinets and bashing them before really giving them a try. After your post, Laurie, I took a look at some of the comments. From what I read, she has not really experienced them. She is, instead, drawing conclusions based on her experiences with other IKEA products. Not everything the company makes is perfect.
Sounds to me like she thinks you can get a nice looking kitchen with IKEA cabinetry, but that the quality is not there. Why is it that some people think you have to spend alot of money to get quality?
A little more searching into the site and I found someone who is in the process of finishing their small IKEA kitchen. My favorite range is being installed......a white/stainless Viking range:
I saw the post left by this woman, and went to her blog. (I'll post it when I find it at home later on.) She is a writer and foodie living in Cambridge, MA, where I work. She was pretty interesting to read. (Did you see the sink she removed? Old cast iron beauty four feet wide!)
