We have black floors and two white cats so this is a question I ponder often (as well as "why did we put black floors in?"). I have a roomba which works nicely if run often but does not get to the edges so honestly the fastest way is to take a damp sponge and pick up hair a couple of times a week.

One new suggestion which I'm currently trying, the FURminator - my hope is it cuts down on the hair falling on the floor

I read about that this past week on my quest to love my dog and the dark floors - i did pick up a furminator - (sticker shock at $60.00) but it works just as well as they said it would.

The fur flying seems to have decreased quite a bit....

If you do get a furminator - you will be amazed at how much hair comes off the pet.

I totally agree about matching your pet to your floor. We have a darker, brindle boxer and lighter floors.

You might be thinking: boxer=very little hair.............but this is not the case!!!
He's a shedding machine, year round.

When we get new hardwood floors, I guess I'll have to plan what color pet I have for the rest of my life.
