You have to hand it to IKEA for not shying away from controversial issues! They pulled plastic bags, and (much bigger issue) they are now under fire in Poland for the latest issue of IKEA Family Live including Ian and Steve as a family archetype. If you read through the rest, they have quite a broad minded spectrum of "families" represented.
Given CA's Prop 8 and similar legislation I'm curious to see if there's any reaction here in the states... What do you all think?

I did some tweaking of the blog post, I was trying really hard not to be biased, but I think some of the bits from the Fronda article came across wrong in the context of what I was saying.
I have to admire the response from IKEA so far... And I love the IKEA Family Live publication itself, nice stuff in it.

While I don't agree with condemning others, I do understand not understanding lifestyles different from your own. Human nature. What I don't get is the hatred - it's neither necessary nor productive. And it hardly is consistent with Love thy Brother.
Whatever. I applaud IKEA for recognizing that all families have inherent worth and dignity.
