Thank you to all who have written to wish me a Happy Birthday. It was an uneventful day and I loved it. A prebirthday call and message on my cell from my daughter on Jan 3rd, a "Happy birthday" text message to my cell from my son who never remembers any special day, a dinner time Birthday call from my daughter (Wow! two calls!).
I treated myself to my traditional b'day dinner at a restaurant I had not been to before. When my daughter called I asked her to guess what I was having. Without hesitation she replied, "ribs". Yep, baby backs every year going back over 25 years now.
I'm slowly moving ahead with plans to move back to So. Cal. My commute will definitely be shorter. I'm checking out roommate sites, job sites if I move to Orange County, senior housing etc. It will be hard to give up my 10 1/2' tall Christmas tree and the luxury of having 1,346 sq. ft all to myself but the benefits will hopefully outweigh the negatives. It's going to take me at least 8 months, possibly longer, before I will be able to make the move. Time for life changes again.
Ok, I'm placing my reservations for January 4th 2008 and 2009 . One will be at Eva's house and the other at Dulci's. I like to try an new place every birthday.
My daughter has now joined in with my research fo moving back to the So. Cal area. She forwarded to me this morning about 8 job postings and 6 rentals all from Craigs List. She called and firmly told me to start getting my resume out...now! She has not yet grasped that I have a torn apart condo to deal with first. I am soo happy though that she is taking her time to try and help her mom, especially with what I've been through with her.
