Hug a Moderator Today! - How'd you like a place to consult with your trusted forum friends about matters not entirely or necessarily related to kitchens or IKEA? Here it is! Laurie, you're one of us still in spirit, even if the title is no longer there! So big hugs to Laurie!
Heck, while I'm at it, BIG HUGS to all the members, without all the issues, chats, questions, projects, rants and insights we wouldn't have anything here but a couple of us geeks bouncing around ideas.
the site is what it is because of all the moving parts, both in front and behind the scenes
I'm a little late getting in on the action here, but better late than never, eh? Thanks, muchas gracias, merci beaucoup, danke schoen! In whatever language one can say it, you all are amazing - so generous with your time and expertise, so patient, and just plain nice. Thanks for making the lives of countless IKEAfans so much easier.
It is NEVER too late to say thank you! Believe me, it feels just as nice belated.
I've been remiss as well in welcoming Zeuss and jgsearls to our Moderators team. They've both been outstanding members since their first days as members and have proven themselves to be natural leaders. We're thrilled to have them on our team.
We also have a great group of Community Mentors now who are out there keeping the community spirit, welcoming new members, answering questions and generally just being great IKEAFANS!
Welcome to our Community Mentors team!

Thanks to both the Moderators and our Community Mentors for all you do!

Thank you to all the moderators and members who've shared their expertise, ideas, and even mistakes.
When asked if I'm doing my kitchen design alone, my answer has been, "Yes. Well, no. I've done it with the support of IKEAFANS.com."
I stumbled onto the site last year thanks to a Google search. I lurked for a few weeks, astonished at the good advice and good cheer. And when I introduced myself, I was pleasantly surprised by the immediate warm welcome.
In addition to my thanks, today I donated via Amazon.com. (There was a note about financial support last week or so--it included something about PBS. Ooh, you got me there. I work at Wisconsin Public Television and I'm so proud of our cultural and intellectual contributions to our state.)
Web sites don't run for free even if the managers are volunteering their time.
erikakn - Thank you for your contribution! (My apologies for not recognizing your contribution right away - Amazon doesn't automatically send a notification, and I hadn't checked recently - MY BAD!)
Yes, you are correct...websites don't run on good will alone, though it helps! We're very lucky to have such a wonderful community - we wouldn't be what we are today without the members' support!
We've recently increased our server capacity by about a factor of 4 to cope with the rise in demand that comes with the increase in content and number of members that we've seen lately - it's a good feeling, but it doesn't come without its downsides. As you can imagine, the costs rose accordingly.
So...if you're reading and you're grateful for what IKEAFANS has offered you in terms of community, helpful advice, planning, error mitigation, assembly and installation tips and support, please consider a donation today!
Thank you!
Susan

No need to apologize. The contribution was only an hour or so ago! In fact, you were very fast!
Thanks,
