A magnet sticks to the bottom of my 365 saucepan, so I think it would work. Hopefully, I get to try soon. I've got an induction hotplate on my Christmas list.

This is the link I gave DMIL. It looks sold out for now. They were about $75 when I was looking last week. I see them on that site somewhat regularly when we buy computer stuff there. I haven't experience with any of them, just reading of reviews. I'd really like to play with it since our old electric coil stove is so ... uninspiring.

We got a 10" round cast iron griddle and have been making pancakes, grilled cheese sandwiches, and fried eggs on it. The IKEA 365 saucepan has been used in making mac and cheese. Now you know how mundane my cooking is.
I really like how controlled the temperature is. Although on a pricier model I'd like to have more settings to choose from. Something between two and three dots would be perfect for pancakes. We haven't done anything with high heat except boil water but someday a flat-bottomed wok and stir fry will have to be tried.
I also like that it will detect whether a workable pan is in place and will shut itself off if it's not the right kind or if a pan is removed for more than 10 seconds or so.
