Well, its not terribly new (about 6 months around us), but has anyone seen the frozen herb cubes at TJs? They have 4 'flavors', basil, parsley, cillantro & garlic. They are little frozen cubes of the herb, frozen fresh, that you just pop into your cooking like a bullion cube or something... great little item!

Thanks for mentioning this, Dave. I love this idea, and had no idea TJ's carried it. I so often find myself resisting spending $3 on fresh herbs that I'm likely to use only once. Of course I could get smart and freeze my own herbs, but that takes a lot of forethought!

I love these. Too often garlic is sprouted when you buy it in the market these days, so with this stuff you are guaranteed tasty garlic. Also, when doing a sautee, you can use a slightly higher heat without worrying about browning the garlic. The fact it's frozen gives you a little longer working time.

The cilantro is great for making cilantro chili butter for corn. Yum.

Oh, yeah! I have some of these in parsley (since the bunnies always eat my parsley) in the freezer. I sometimes forget to use them, but when I remember it's great! So easy to use and no washing, chopping...

Thanks for posting, Dave. I love TJ's. Gotta figure out a reason to get to one soon...1 1/2 hours away either way I go.
