My studio, always a work in progress

Here's my Expedit storage. It's much more full (meaning less pretty and organized) now, and I recently bought the caster rail thingies that are just for Expedit to install under the smaller unit. I've moved that and am using it as an ironing island while I ponder a way to wedge yet another sewing machine station, (my 4th, and it's the size of a T-Rex, seriously) into the space.
I'm agonizing over whether to fork out the $30 each for a few of the drawer cube inserts for Expedit. Handy to have, but at that price I can get a lot of something else, too. BTW , the casters are a great deal at $15 for the three I needed for this unit. I'm also considering the new Expedit desk that attaches to the cube unit. Has anyone got one?

My sink area. I tossed the top that came with the stand and made a new one so it would fit the single Domsjo sink. Then I mosaic'd the top with glass globs leftover from my bathroom tile project:

next to that is a closet curtained with IKEA fabric (also much less tidy and organized):

along the back wall are LACK shelves that you can just see above, along with about 16' of suspended countertop work surface that I'm trying to come up with a way to redo. I need the most decent looking open storage for the least cost. Must allow easy access and good visual to contents. I need it to be tabletop height including a toekick recess. I'm thinking maybe Besta...?

Re: My studio, always a work in progress

It was/is part of the LAXAN series, IIRC . I can't find it on the website, however.

Did you seriously think I have something non-IKEA in my house?

LOL ! I always thought that sink was in your bathroom! I had no idea it was in the craft room. You, my dear, are a woman who has everything.

OK, I always thought that I could do that with an IKEA piece but whenever I go looking, it's hiding. Thank you!

Re: My studio, always a work in progress

Love your pictures and what you have done with your space! The sink is great! Years ago I redid my bathroom and at that time had a custom frame built for the sink. The heat vent was right under it by the pipes so it couldn't be a closed in area. Pedestal sinks weren't available at the time and I wanted a larger surface area.

Re: My studio, always a work in progress

This is just what my neighbors used in their very zen bathroom spaces. They had some tricky pipes, so they put in two of those sink stands side-by-side. Looked great. And looks great here, too!! Great work, and fun color scheme!

Re: My studio, always a work in progress

Thanks for the comments. I know I've posted the pics before, but I just couldn't bear to see this great new category with zero threads

The room is driving me nuts for want of more storage and workspace, but I don't ever have enough downtime in there to do anything about it. Or to think hard about it even. I'd like to just start over, but that seems like way more work and money than I want to spend.
