We just finished replacing our old white cabinets with Adel MB.We are trying to create contemprary theme and decide on Granite color. We have small kitchen but open layout with Oak hardwoord floor in kitchen, Dining and Living area, Bisque appliances. Should we choose gold/yellow tones (Santa Cecillia) to give brighter look OR darker colors (green/blue ) with Adem MB ?

I think it's important to think about the adjoining spaces when thinking about color schemes for a particular room, especially with an open floorplan. Do the colors your favor in the other rooms tend to be warm/bright, or cool? Which of the granites makes you excited? When you look at fancy kitchens with light granites vs. those with dark ones, which are the ones that make you say "I want that!"

(FWIW, I favor dark granites but have a warm color scheme, so I picked a dark granite with pink/rose tones).

Really depends on your home and what you like. Adel MB is very versatile, so you have lots of possibilities!

FWIW, love the look of dark cabinets with lighter granite. But our kitchen/house is very small, with a lighter/cooler color scheme so we felt it wouldn't work with dark cabs, thus the (current) plan is Adel Birch, with a medium tone (anitco) granite.

The guy at our local granite place mentioned that he started stocking a Kashmir White just because so many people were coming in asking about the display at the Seattle Ikea, which is Adel MB, lots of Stainless and Kashmir White granite.

I also believe Adel MB is very versatile and you could go light or dark. Our kitchen is small and dark, so if I were to use Adel MB, I'd go with the lighter countertop and backsplash.

How much natural light do you have? You'll have darker cabinetry and a darker floor with the wood. You'll want to have some light bouncing off some surfaces; i.e. countertops, blacksplash, appliances, etc).

We're debating between Adel MB and Nexxus BB. We already bought our granite slabs, and it should go with either. I normally like dark (black) with adel MB, but I fell in love with this granite. It's called silver galaxy and has some flecks of red/brown in it that goes quite well with the Adel MB:

I am getting the Santa Cecelia Dark #3 with our MB cabinets. I just posted a question about my backsplash and paint color and there are some pics if you're interested. The granite we picked had some nice brown/orange tones which we thought looked good with the MB.
