Hi Everyone, we purchased our cabinets and have starting building them while we wait to get the keys to our new place. I had a question about our sink base cabinet. We got a 30" cabinet and have a 33" sink. The sink cabinet sits next to a corner cabinet. Can we cut down the side of the sink and corner cabinet 9" or does any one else have another suggestion? Thanks in advanced.

Is there any way to fit a 36" sink base into your plan? That's the simplest solution, but you can search for discussions in this forum of how to fit various sink sizes into smaller cabinets.

I guess my question is why do you need 9"? If you've got a 30" sink base and a 33" sink, that's 3" to my way of thinking. What am I missing? Also, is 33" the interior or the exterior measurement, and is it a topmount or undermount?

I think the OP means 9 inches down the side of the cabinet to accomodate the depth of the sink that would overhang the sides.

The simplest solution, of course, would be to purchase a smaller sink. I have a 30 inch sinkbase with a 27 inch wide sink and it is plenty big enough. It was only about $100 at Home Depot also.
