We are using Adel MB cabinets and thought we had decided on a counterop (Silestone Sienna Ridge)...however, we've completely changed our mind after spending the entire day looking for floor tiles that would match Sienna Ridge We are thinking of going with a more solid color like a darker gray (possibly Silestone Amazon Gray) for the countertop. We are also thinking of using 3x6 glass subway tiles in a green tone. What color floors are recommended? I think I'd like the focus of the kitchen to be more on the countertop/backsplash area -I do not want the focus to be on the floors. Also, we do NOT have a window in the kitchen; however, there are three windows and a slider in the adjacent dining room.
Are we looking at a color scheme that will make our kitchen even darker??
I'm also trying to recall some of the color schemes that have been discussed. The grey you mentioned looks a little dark and cool for AMB, but that could be my monitor.
jgsearls has a countertop in Formica Limestone, and a backsplash in 1x3 celery green glass tiles on AMB.
Stacylu has Santa Ceceilia granite on AMB.
Do you have a sampe of your backsplash to post? That might really help.

Thank you for all the replies. We've narrowed down our selection to what's shown in the photos; however, we are still undecided on whether we want to go light or dark with the countertop. The photo shows two potential backsplashes. They are both from the Walker Zanger Roku line - Rain and Green Tea. We are planning on using a row of 6x12 tiles in matte finish, then two or three rows of the smaller tiles in gloss finish, then another row of matte finish. For the countertop, there are four options shown - all from Silestone. The first one, let's just call it Limestone because it really is actual limestone. It's supposed to simulate Silestone's Tigris Sand. After Tigris Sand, we have actual Silestone products shown: Capri Limestone, Gray Amazon, and Stellar Night. We are also considering Caesarstone's Raven (shown in the second photo). Our wood floors in the living room are also shown. We will be using tile in the kitchen which will adjoin to the wood floors.
All of our appliances are stainless steel.
Anyhow, please let me know which color combinations you think look best together. We are leaning towards the Green Tea backsplash and Raven.
You are making some very similar decisions to us! However, we have, and are keeping white appliances. With the stainless appliances I think the green tea and Raven than you are leaning towards sounds really nice. I am thinking of a backsplash in a colour similar to your "rain", and am going to go with a lighter countertop - to work better with the white appliances.
What kind of a look are you going for? I think Adel MB with dark countertops is a pretty "modern" look. With lighter countertops it takes on a much more traditional look (which is what we want).

I like the green tea backsplash choice. Did you purchase that online or in a local store. We are having a hard time finding affordable yet modern looking glass tiles for a backsplash. We also plan using the Adel MB cabinets, but with a dark granite color. We are leaning towards ubatuba which is dark (almost black) with some brown and even green mixed in. If your interested I've got a thread with a few pictures in Help with Granite?
There are several combinations of your materials that would look great. You might be choosing between several win, win situations - nothing really bad.
But I think the green tea backsplash with the darkest counter would look so dramatic! That would be my fav.
