The NBB/Abstrakt white combo is probably my favorite. We are doing stainless lowers with abstrakt white uppers, but if I did not have ebony floors, I would have done NBB on the bottom, I think. Also, I think the quality of the NBB doors is fairly impressive; the doors are even nicer in person, which is not true of all IKEA doors (some of which look better in pics).
I too love the NBB and NYB with either the AW or Rubrik White (RW)- I don't think you'll be at all sorry with that kitchen. Yankee, I didn't know that you had considered the NBB/AW or RW combo- I would totally have done that in your space! I like the SS a lot- but I really do like the dark floors and the dark cabinets- I think it looks incredibly elegant.

I did seriously consider it, but I thought the slab oak doors looked a little odd next to my oak floors, which are hand-hewn. Basically, they didn't seem to compliment eachother very well, and my floors made the doors look fake/manufactured, which was a shame because the NBB are very nice doors.
I can always switch the lowers to NBB at some point, though, if I change my mind -- one of the things I love about the IKEA kitchen system : ).

I have to admit, that's why I gave in on the base cab fronts -- because I could always change them out later. Maybe one day while the husband is at work? Also, I wanted to see if Nexus Brown is really coming out.

I am not sure mine would notice!!
Also, I have a few magazine pics of kitchens that have both SS cabs and dark slab ones similar to the NBB (in those, the SS was on the base cabs, and the uppers were either an NBB-look alike alone, or a mix of NBB-look-alike and dark, open shelving. My most favorite was the one with the open shelves. There was a similar kitchen also on HGTV's Top 10 Kitchens special; it was kitchen no. 9, with the cool onyx-topped island.

We are deep in the process of doing a NBB/AW kitchen and we actually really like how the textures play off each other. We've got NBB lowers and a mixture of AW and glass uppers. We couldn't be happier with the combination.
If you are coming up short on examples, I'm sure I could get some pictures up here. They wouldn't be too glamorous since we are still constructing, but they would give you a good idea of how these two door styles play together...
