that's what I'm looking at - it says online that it's NOT in stock in my local store (Stoughton) - but I know it's said that before and I've found stuff there.

anyway, anybody have any other home made, or store bought solutions that mimic this idea? I like the idea of having my TV up on the wall, but don't like the idea of drilling holes ... this suspended system seems pretty cool.

I have a 42" plasma, not sure of weight off top of my head.

Update/Edit - I forgot that these systems already exist, see the picture of the Whalen system below, it's about $370 @ BestBuy, but unfortunately only comes in Cherry/Black-Brown or Black/Silver. I'm wondering w/a light floor (bamboo, maple, oak), a sage green couch, and all lighter colors around would thing look wayyyyy off? I'm wondering if I can find a coffee table w/cherry black-brown or black to pull it together if it would look ok? ! That's the way it always goes, right? I'm trying to avoid having too much and/or clashing things going on. I think maybe I'm thinking too much and the black/silver will be OK.

last i saw was 137lb max weight...not sure if it includes EVERYTHING on the poles.

I have to find my TV manual, it's a big 42" Hitachi Plasma, but I'm hoping that this product will hold it:

Then I can go w/the matching coffee table (which I have to put the eyeball on):

I would be getting them in the black/brown. I really liked another coffee table they have that has collapsible wings, but it's pretty pricey and only comes in 'black', not 'black brown':

So, maybe I'll try to get the pieces close to each other @ the store and see how close/far off they are color wise.

With light floors, you need the contrast of medium to dark furniture. Otherwise, it blends and looks flat. Unless that's the look you're going for.
