DS and I have been tossing around an idea. We have the leftover tile to lay a 'border' under the window that would link the backsplash next to the stove with the backsplash over the granite counter.

Here is the view that would be affected:

The space above the short lower section of tiles on the left will be filled with the spice cabinet, to the top of the window. The space below the window will be open as it is now.

Here's how the area would look (sort of), with the border:

I think it might look better if it hugged the bottom and both sides of the window, which would mean it would go two rows higher on the right. (Edited to update photo)

Any and all comments welcomed...if you think it's a dumb idea, be honest!

Good Photoshop Skills! I'd have thought it was a dumb idea until I saw the picture. I really like it. I agree that hugging the window will look better.

LOL...Thanks...it's only taken me 2 years to figure out how to work with layers in PhotoShop Elements, with the book .

So we're both packrats, trying to reform. Yesterday, I held all the left-over cut pieces of ceramic in my hands and thought, "we won't need these" and tossed them. 10 minutes ago, I trotted out to the curb to dig them out of our construction trash. We borrowed a tile saw to do this, and with any luck, the cut pieces will enable us to complete this portion without having to borrow it again...

This is a prime example of why I'm a packrat. Inevitably, after I throw something out, I have a need for it.

It looks like you have already decided and I agree it is a good choice to bring those beautifultiles under the window. I said it before, but I just love your backsplash. Hope my four color splash will look that good!

Where!? Where!? Can I sign up? Seriously, thanks for the feedback and compliments.

Well, ladies, I've decided, but 'The Management' (aka DS) was the 'con' side. In all fairness, though, she hasn't seen the doctored photo, and I do have the green ceiling, green beam wall, and pastry counter as positive precedents for my outlandish ideas.

I'll keep you posted (ha! I made a funny )
