I was considering using light green for kitchen. In the paint store they told me they don't recommend using green in the kitchen. Does anyone have green in the kitchen and can post either pictures or name of color they used (if Benjamin moore)? I'm getting "medium brown" ikea kitchen, that is pretty dark and i thought light green will make room look lighter.
How weird. Did they give you a reason not to use green?
I can think of lots of people who have used green in the kitchen....mindstorm, jgsearls come immediately to mind. In fact isn't Susan's (GOD's) kitchen green?

Yes they told me green is never used in restaurants because it makes people look "sick" while they're eating. They said to use warm colors for kitchen. But I really still want to use green that's why i posted here to see if people use it for kitchen and see some pictures if possible.
If you like it, go with it. I didn't know there were specific rules about colors in kitchens. But hey, what do I know. I've heard of stearing away from certain colors in the bathroom because I guess the way it reflects the light when you're applying makeup, etc. If you would like someone's opinion whether they think it will look good, could you post asample of the paint? I've always thought green would look great with the Adel Medium Brown; but it would also dependupon the shade whether I would think it looked good or not. What color are your counters going to be?
Thanks, everyone! My countertops are corean, light beige, color is called "Solaris" but for some reason i couldn't find them on Corian website. I ordered it through Ikea.
Hi there!! I'm doing green in my Stat White kitchen. Here in France I've seen quite a few green kitchens (and blue, and glossy off white) and they've always looked stunning. Why? Because the green walls are used as a canvas for other features in the kitchen : the rickety wooden kitchen table chairs bought at a brocante with just the right amount of crackling green paint, a painting on the wall, an antique wardrobe transformed into a pantry unit, baskets, copper pots, tiles. So you see, green is what you make of it!! Cyndi
