I painted my laundry room retro pink, added shelves above the stacking W/D and freezer and made a curtain to pull across in a cool retro fabric. I covered my ironing board in the same fabric. I found some vintage ads for washing machines from the 50s with washers in turquoise and pink, framed them in black frames and hung them here and there. I added a retro clock above the doorway and I would add curtains except my pantry shelves go across the windows. I did a parquet vinyl tile on the floor to match the oak parquet in the rest of the house but be water safe, and you know, the whole place makes me smile when I go into it! I am considering changing out the builder-grade ceiling light for a daisy-festooned chandelier. That would be perfect. I would also love to make a cozy for the water heater out of the retro fabric, but I think it might be a fire hazard.
Here's the fabric I used, I love it to death! It's got the same pink color as the wall paint.
The tape measure isn't part of the fabric, ignore that
