Do you think it's going to be too dark? We have a 40''x36'' window and will have light from our south-facing dining room. Kitchen size is about 10' x 13'.
Or would that be ok if we chose bright color tile for back splush? Any recommendation?
I've been looking for picture which has similar color choices, but haven't been successful.
I think the Natural Corn is a gorgeous pick! I've seen some beautiful backsplash tiles that would really glow behind those cabinets and countertop. Onyx springs to mind. Let me know if you want to see some, but be forewarned....they're a tiny bit pricey.

Ok, but you asked for it! I'd have to do a little deeper searching to find any pictures of dark cabinets/counter with light floors and light backsplash, but here's the tile that I was thinking of. Ok, several:
If it were my kitchen, I'd be doing a basketweave all over with a framed border around a rectangle of the small 1/2" (?) square tiles over the range. But that's me. I'll see if I can find a similar kitchen. Have you looked at the THS Finished Kitchens Blog? You can do a search on elements to try to find kitchens similar to your vision.

I think the Adel brown with black cabinets would be a tad too dark. I am a big proponent of the horizontal surfaces being similar in intensity. The yellow floor is awesome...but I think the countertop should be more of a limestone or a yellow-white shade, and the backsplash tones that Susan shows above. I think it would make everything pop more, instead of everything but the floor and backsplash receding. I think it would be more balanced to have the cabinets dark, floors and counters lighter and the backsplash a blend of those two tones.
MickyNick's kitchen with irridescent glass backsplash, light floors
Hope that helps. Have fun looking!

Wow Susan! Thanks for all the pictures and links!
I'm really happy to know the finishedkitchen blog site that they have tons of pictures!
My husband and I both like the glass tile for backsplush. The gold/wheat color (one of your pix) would be great with our plan.
I also noticed that it wouldn't be too dark if we picked mat grayee countertop tile instead of deep black granite look tile. I really like the 2nd kitchen picture ( MickyNick's kitche).
evaparconti - Thanks for your advise! I haven't found any white/yellowish tile I liked, but I would go for beige brown color tile. I just picked up the sample door front. I'll bring it to Tile Store this weekend to see how it looks with brighter tile color.
Kuma, I like the idea of the gray tile much better than the brown-black. But I'm trying to visualize the yellow floor. Keeping in mind that I love color, including yellow, and I'm also (hopefully) using marmoleum, so I'm not opposed to that . . . I just don't necessarily see the yellow floor with Adel MB cabs. And there are so many other funky options. Is there a reason you settled on yellow? Just playing devil's advocate . . .
Thanks for your opinion. We went to tile store. It was hard to find the good much with both yellow marmolleum and Adel MB. However, after going back and forth between yellow vs cream color, we decided to have the yellow tile. We just love it.
We haven't been able to decide either of tile color yet. Yellow and brown are such a worm color, the tile store stuff and we all didn't like to have cold color for conter top/backsplush.
So far, I like the brick layout back splush, and might go for honey onyx color (not sure we can afford it, so will look for similar color tile...). Countertop color is the hardest one - we are currently waiting for sample of light brown/mix brown color.
Thanks all for your pictures, opinion, and advice. Much appreciated!
My husband and I finally finished our kitchen remodel about a month ago! and I wanted to share the photos with you how that turned out with super bright yellow floor.
We decided on creamy white 3x6 tranvantine tiles for our backsplash with "linen" for grout color, and gray/marble brown 18x18 porcelin tiles for counter top. Our cabinet is, as you may noticed, Adel Medium Brown.
It was hard to decide what we want for backsplash since we didn't want to have our kitchen too dark, but still unique...
We love our new kitchen!! Thanks you all for your advice!
