49" corner cabinet with filler

Hi there,

I just ordered this...

Hi there,

I just ordered this kitchen:
http://kitchenplanner.ikea.com/US/UI...SharedDesign=1

When I ordered the kitchen the person helping me at ikea said I needed to add a 2" filler between the 49" corner cabinet and 30" sink cabinet to its right.

My questions are:
1) What is the purpose of the 2" filler between the corner cab and the sink cab?
2) Assuming I do need the above 2" filler what will the installed width of the corner cab be--51"?
3) Do I need a filler between the corner cab and the 21" base cab to its left?

Also, a person working there told me that the shelves only come with the head board.. So what happens if I need more shelves? Thanks!

Help with corner cabinet in pantry

We installed our kitchen cabinets...

We installed our kitchen cabinets this weekend. It was harder than I expected but I am happy with the results.

I now need help with an install in the pantry. The plan is to install two upper corner cabinets without doors in the corner of our walk in pantry. Stacked one on top of the other. Then I was going to have the builder put in the standard white shelving on either side of the cabinets eliminating the dreaded corner of lost foods. The problem is when we installed the corner cabinet in the kitchen we discovered the bottom of the cabinet swings out until it is attached to a cabinet beside it. Does anyone have any suggestions for keeping the bottom of the cabinet snug to the wall when it is by itself?

Well, that is the question as I am...

Well, that is the question as I am thinking of buying the Ikea Hjartdal. I am interested in people who live in warm places or warm houses as I think this is the most interesting way to tell.

My sister has an Ikea mattress and says it is fine, but she lives in an apartment that is fairly cool. I don't want to buy the Hjartdal and end up feeling really hot as the summer kicks in.

I have back issues so prefer memory foam to latex, but I am unsure what to buy.

Colours, heat, fabric stains and the Ikea Tidafors rust sofa??

I need to buy a sofa for my living...

I need to buy a sofa for my living room, and I like the Tidafors sofa, which is a perfect size for me being so tall. However, there is just something about this colour. I can't decide if it is really bright enough or if it would darken the room somewhat?

I have just moved into a new place and the walls are painted magnoila (an orange/ yellow type colour) with beige carpets, so it's as if everything has a cream like shade to it. I think the room is crying out for something brighter, but this is the brightest Ikea do in that range.

Any opinions? Is it more a case of painting the walls bright or is this sofa a depressing shade of orange?

Incidentally, does anyone know if the fabric on this sofa stains easily. I would hope I could just wipe off stains, but I am not sure it is that simple?

Also, does anyone who has sat on this sofa during a hot summer know if it traps heat? The rust colour is made of Polyester, so I am concerned it will not ventilate heat very well?

We are wondering how flexible it is if we were to lower the shelf and insert our own oven (60 x60 x 85 cm high).
Just wondering if anyone has done this or would it be a complete disaster. We dont want to buy an under the counter oven cause they are too small.

What would make it all work is if I could find a 12" or 15" cabinet with drawers to put between them. I haven't found a very good candidate for this though... any ideas? Doesn't necessarily HAVE to be Ikea....
