Experience with Bosch gas cooktop installed over Bosch oven?

Does anyone have any experience...

Does anyone have any experience installing the Bosch gas cooktop over the Bosch built-in oven in a 30" cabinet? I know someone had a problem with it on another thread, and the solution had something to do with the thickness of the countertop (i.e. if you have the right thickness, you can make it work).

I'm interested in the Bosch 500 series 30" gas cooktop (NGM5024UC) and installing that over the Bosch 300 series 30" oven (HBL335OUC). According to the Bosch website, the cooktop requires 3 and 13/16 inches in depth. Should I simply adjust the countertop thickness accordingly? I believe the other posters had a problem, because they had already purchased their countertop, and compromised by selecting a different gas cooktop to make it work.

Also, any thoughts on the convection versus the simple thermal oven? I am leaning towards keeping it simple, because I find that I probably would end up just using the thermal function anyway, since that's how most recipes are written.

While I'm at it, anyone have experience with the Sharp microwave drawer in the 24" in cab? I'm thinking of installing it in a kitchen island.

Thanks!

$349 stainless RENLIG dishwasher reviews/feedback?

Can anyone share their experience...

Can anyone share their experience with the $349 Renlig dishwasher? This is the one that comes only in a stainless steel finish.

I ended up buying it on Wednesday, which was the last day of the kitchen sale. I hadn't done much research (there's very little on the web about it anyway), so it was a bit of an impulse buy in order to capitalize on the extra 5% off they offered if you bought 2 appliances. It turned out to be about $110 net cost when you consider the discount.

I'm a bit concerned since it looks like a pretty low-end model. Even the ~ $300 models I see at Home Depot don't have the antiquated knob controls. Also, the non-tall tub is a knock against it.

At this point, I'm considering asking to change my order to the next model up or just cancel entirely and pick one out elsewhere.

So, after all that rambling, can anybody speak to the quality of the RENLIG? Primary concerns to me are cleaning effectiveness, noise level, and reliability.

Hi,

What do I need to get...

Hi,

What do I need to get electricity-wise for the NUTID oven and microwave ovens? I am assuming a 220 V line for the oven and 110 V for the microwave, is that correct? I haven't gotten them yet and I need to plan for that as my existing 220V goes to the wall opposite where they're going to be, and I need to make sure I also have what I need for the microwave.

Thanks!

Hello all!
I have NUTID Microwave and Oven that I have to install in high cabinet (30"x88").
I can't find any instructions for it. Our contractor doesn't know how to do it properly, so appliances do not stick out and are in the same level with the rest of the high cabinets. Any ideas as to what I can do?
Thanks!

Integrated Fisher & Paykel double dishdrawer: how do they line up?

Hi,

I have ordered a FP...

Hi,

I have ordered a FP integrated double dishdrawer (tall) but have the option to call today and get the regular one instead ($100 less). I don't think I need the extra capacity of the taller one (13" plates instead of 12"---if I have plates bigger than that it may be 3 charger plates that I'd use a couple times a year, so not a decision factor), but I would get it if it means the drawer fronts will line up better with my Ikea cabinets than the doubles do.

The regular double has a top panel of 15 5/8". The bottom panel is the height of the other cabinet doors minus that height minus a clearance of 5/16" for venting.

The tall has a top panel of 17 3/8" and then the same math applies.

So I have the following questions:

- What is the true height of a cabinet door (Abstrakt white if that matters)?

- Can someone who has some 3-drawer (2 deep at bottom, 1 shallow at top) cabinet measure where the top of each drawer is from the bottom of the lowest drawer? That would help me get an idea of how things will look like.

Thanks!

I tood advantage of IKEA's current...

I tood advantage of IKEA's current 20% off kitchen sale and ordered all new cabinets and appliances. I have started to demo the existing kitchen and I am very excited to install the IKEA items! However, in preparation for doing so, I need to complete some electrical work, which I am capable of doing on my own. There's only one problem, I cannot locate any information about the installation requirements for the appliances that I purchased. I need to know if they're on 110v or 220v, how many amps are required on their respective circuits, whether they're hardwired or not (not sure about the microwave on this), etc. I know that Whirlpool makes most of the appliances, but I can't find a similar Whirlpool appliance for everything I purchased.

The appliances are as follows:

NUTID S23 refrigerator (I assume this will plug into a 110v outlet like most fridges?)

NUTID HDN SI850 hood (I assume this is hardwired to 110v?)

NUTID 24" oven (I assume this requires 220v and probably a 40 amp circut? Hardwired or plug?)

NUTID microwave (I assume 110v? Hardwired or plug?)

ELDIG electric cooktop (I assume 220v? Amps?)

Better yet, can someone point me to the installation/user manuals?

Thank you in advance for your anticipated help with this!!

I know there is a light that says the stovetop is on, but what kind of visual clues do you have that a burner is hot? Does it glow red? Is it always glowing red when it's on? Is there no indication at all?

We have three little kids that will do whatever they can to burn their hands! :yikes:

Any other comments on the cooktop would be most welcomed! Thanks!

I wish that somewhere in IKEA, they had this stuff plugged in! :P

(BTW: my boy insisted on the two faces for this post. enjoy!)

Hey All! I have some questions on the MUMSIG Double Oven, for anyone who has it:

1: Does it have a pre heat indicator that that shows you the current temp and lets you know when it's done (a ding or something similar)?

2: Is there any sort of timer cook function?

3: What are the controls like? Are they computerized?

4: Can you otherwise describe your experiences with it? Do you like it?
