Please help! I am struggling to decide which IKEA wardrobe unit to purchase -- can't find one to "fit all".

With the Hopen unit, where do you store shoes? (the Komplement shoe organizer and shelves don't fit), and how do you make best use of the huge corner unit?

With PAX, does anyone know why the corner piece doesn't come in Black/Brown, as do other PAX components?

Thanks for your insight and opinions.

Hi,
I have a pair of sliding mirrored doors on my bedroom wardrobe and the ball bearings in one of the wheels have broken. This means the wheel no longer rotates and just grates along the rail.

In order to get a replacement part the IKEA automated system requires a part number which doesn't appear on the assembly instructions and the store I bought it in is being less than helpful.

Can anyone advise?

Many thanks - Matt

Hi,

Hi,

I've been lurking around this forum for quite some time. Picking up ideas and hacks. Well, I picked up a full size Malm bed frame about 4 months ago but never got the chance to put it together until today. I wanted to do the Malm and Dioder led nightstand hack. :)

Well, long story short I'm missing the 4 crossbars item # 117228. I purchased this item from the Emeryville Store here in California. I didnt take into account that I would not receive these major pieces becuase well, they're big and not a screw or wooden peg.

I got the frame, the midbeam, and slatted bases. I have placed my matress on the slats and its holding up but I've already read through numerous post and realized that eventually the slats are going to pop off and the matress will fall through. Its already pass the 90 days and I dont have my receipt. What are my options? Any alternatives to this problem? Thanks for helping out this newbie. :tears:

So now I'm thinking that Erfjord might be swedish for Granite.

The erfjord in the store was comfortable, getting it home (160 pounds of dead weight) was entertaining, but my erfjord is like a brick. Almost no give.

I have the birch curved slats on one side, the flat slats on the other. Makes no difference.

Anyone who has this bed want to comment on whether it got softer over time?

I hate the idea of buying a 1000 dollar mattress and then buying a 200 dollar topper to make it ok. I also hate the idea of loading this monstrosity back into a van and taking it back to IKEA.

Meanwhile, the woman I spoke to last night about this at IKEA tried to claim that the 90 day exchange policy for mattresses only applies if you don't sleep on it! I know she's wrong, but clearly this is what they tell their frontline staff!

Does any have or have tried the Javnaker mattress? I'm on a very limited budget and this seems like a good deal. However, on the description it says it is suitable as an extra bed which worries me. So any opinions? or should I go with a sultan mattress. I prefer the Javnaker because it comes with a box spring and I like to be up high. I also prefer really soft beds and the Javnaker is the only one listed as soft. Currently I'm sleeping on three foam pads on top of a spring mattress.

Thanks for the help! :)

I have only had my Aneboda bed for 4 months and this has already happened twice...

While sleeping- literally just laying there still... the midbeam has pulled out of the headboard. That is the 2 screws in the metal plate that holds the midbeam to the headboard have pulled out and cannot be screwed back in the same holes.

The first time I just moved the midbeam to the lower setting, but last night it happened again... so I am out of settings and don't have $ to replace the entire bed!

I am not a heavy person I weight 64 kilo (142 lb) so cannot imagine I am too big for the bed!

Help!! Is there some way I can fix this... maybe drill extra holes? Get some plywood? Why does this keep happening!?

Hi all,

Hi all,

How well do Akurum cabs work as clothing closets in the bedroom? Does anyone have any pics of a Akurum fitted with rods, drawers, etc? Or any opinion on if it's smart to do or not?

Here's why...

We just gutted our closets but the dimensions in each doesn't fit well with Pax without losing a bunch of space (yes, I've read about this on a few other threads). What will work spacing wise is to put in a bunch of Akurum high cabs (30"+30"+15") should fill in our 75"+ closets perfectly.

Thanks all!
