Question on the Ikea 39"Godmorgon Mirror Cabinet Interior...

My contactor installed today, and I am curious why the verticle-center-shelf-support-beam is matte gray on the front edge instead of mirror finish.

Wondering if anyone has the same cabinet and will clarify? Want to make sure it was not installed backwards, and I have no way of telling.

I'm thinking it might have to be matte gray because it's where the 2 doors meet - mirror finish too vulnerable.

Hi,

I want to buy a wash-basin of Lillangen collection.
IKEA | Cabinets | LILLÃ…NGEN/ANORDNA system | LILLÃ…NGEN | Single wash-basin

But I`m affraid that splashes will fly in all directions because of a flat bottom.

Am I right? I like this sink, but I don`t want to wipe the floor constantly.

IKEA in bathrooms? I have my doubts.

Hi All,

Hi All,

I am a big IKEA fan and work to dispel the myth that the furniture is cheaply made. If you take halfway decent care of it, the stuff really lasts.

I'm on the verge of doing a few minor upgrades in our bathroom, including a new sink and vanity for the sink to sit on. This is the one room I have concerns about in terms of IKEA quality. So much of their stuff is particle board and I worry that in a moist room, the vanity will start to swell. I also worry that in the event of an accidental flood, it would be ruined for good.

I'd love to hear from people who have had long-term positive experiences with IKEA furnishings in bathrooms.

Thanks!

- Ilana

Bathroom tall cabinet suggestions?

We're going to redo our bathroom...

We're going to redo our bathroom with the Godmorgon sink/drawer base system. We're leaning toward the high gloss white or high gloss gray finish. The problem I face is that I need to place a high cabinet next to this. The matching Godmorgon cabinet is about 15" wide, and the kitchen high cabinets only come in 15" or 24" wide.

I really have about 22" to work with, so 24" is too big, but 15" is quite a waste. Any ideas about something else I can get from Ikea that is in the 20" width range that would 1) serve as a full height cabinet, 2) could match/compliment my Godmorgon cabinet adequately?

We just bought a lillagen sink and cabinet combo (the 24" sink and cabinet with double aluminum doors) to spruce up our tiny and dated master bathroom.

I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not the screws which hold the cabinet to the wall need to be screwed into studs or if the drywall or drywall anchors were acceptable? The instructions aren't clear on this and it doesn't seem to indicate that screwing it into studs is required.

Thanks in advance.

Höllviken mounting

Does anyone know whether and how...

Does anyone know whether and how it is possible to mount only a Höllviken sink (60x40cm, ca 24x16in) to the wall.

According to Ikea, it is only possible to put in on a closet of some kind. That doesnot work for me because it's next to the shower so a closet gets very humid and storage is unnecessary.

IKEA | Kasten & open kasten | Kasten voor wastafel | FREDEN/ HÖLLVIKEN | Kast voor wastafel
but then the smaller version
