Any help would be appreciated!
Description: Can anyone identify what IKEA desk this is? I couldn't take pictures of the whole thing. This is just the section that the computer goes on. When all 3 pieces are together, they form an "L" shape. The entire desk is made out of metal (my guess is aluminium) and glass. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

The site gives the overall measurements, but I need to how tall and wide inside of the shelves are if that makes any sense.
Hi all!

Hi all!

I'm really fond of the Ikea Poäng chair, it has an amazing design and it's very comfortable.

I was wondering : has anyone tried to use it as a desk chair?
I try to find a comfortable and nice looking desk chair, but I don't find anything (at Ikea or at some other shops). I don't like at all the wheels and the back parts of usual office chairs.
And I'd like to have a Poäng chair, but it wouldn't really fit somewhere else in my flat. So the idea is to have it as desk chair and using it sometimes for other purposes.

The problem is this chair may be too low, and I'm not sure if it's possible not to sit too far from the desk.

My desk is 72 centimeters (28.3 inches) high. You can have a look at it in the attachment. It's not an Ikea one... sorry!

Thanks! :)

Help re-design IKEAFANS office workspace! Please?

We are finally getting around to...

We are finally getting around to redesigning the office here at IKEAFANS and are looking for some help from you all! For those of you who don't know, we work on the site out of our home. James has long had the office as his own and I've had a desk set up in the living room. It's getting a bit out of hand! So, on Saturday we started tearing apart the office and cleaning it out in preparation for some changes. But we need your help to figure out how to rearrange the room! :D

I did manage to get the IKEA Home planner fired up and put the measurements in as well as the electrical and the locations of the radiator and the a/c vents. It's an awkward room because it's really a sunroom and has 7 windows in a space just barely over 11'x9'.

I made some notes on the basic room layout, but I'll mention here as well - the walls are a knotty pine paneling - it's actually rather nice - 3/4" thick real planks. The windows are 8/1 original glass (from 1930) and we have wood blinds (from IKEA of course) on all of them. The floors are hardwood (oak), and there's a small white ceiling fan in the middle of the ceiling which is a white drop ceiling. The door is a french door that's never been painted or stained that has 15 lights (windows). It needs to be removed and shaved on the bottom to swing properly.

You'll see in the pictures above that I really just stuck the furniture that we have now in the room. That's NOT my plan! lol

We have 2 BILLY bookcases in beech with doors on the bottoms already installed. These could come out, but there's nowhere else for them to go in our house and they're great storage and the color matches the paneling well. Would like to keep them in the design if possible. Other furniture that could go in the room (or not) is an older model pine desk that resembles the MATTEUS as well as a white VIKA GRUVAN top with VIKA ARTUR trestle legs in white. We have a small birch ANTON filing cabinet, a JOEL swivel arm chair, and a huge leathery desk chair from Costco. And I have a white DAVE.

Obviously, none of this stuff matches. Ideally, the room would be chic and slick (I'll see if I can find some inspiration photos) and would fit the two of us and all our attendant stuff with ease and in style, but we're willing to accept that we're going to have to make some concessions. We may just be mismatched for a while!

I'm working on figuring out the budget - let's see what we can come up with and then we'll figure out how to make it work!

Our basic requirements:

2 people need work spaces:

1 with a laptop + 2 additional monitors

1 with a desktop computer/tower + 1 additional monitor

Scanner + printer + paper storage

Disk storage

Small storage for flash drives, office supplies, etc.

Storage for cameras, tripods, video, etc.

Bins or storage for prizes + giveaways, business cards, T-shirts, etc.

Shelving for reference materials, catalogs, magazines, newsletters, computer books, etc.

Filing for instruction manuals, buying guides, in addition to business files, etc.

Desktop ready access for current catalogs

Telephone

External Hard drive + Battery Backup

I'm going to upload some pictures of the room (mostly) cleaned out. Thanks in advance for any and all help with this! I'm hopeless when it comes to room planning.

On Page 5, Step 2 of the instructions, it clearly shows the metal post #112996 goes into 4 places on each angle side piece. Along the back edge, it shows that the posts go into the two inner drilled holes. But on the actual piece, this doesn't work because the inner holes are too big, they are for the wooden dowels. It's like the jig they used to drill the holes is wrong. Should I just proceed with what works?

Also, there is a groove along one long edge of the back board. This groove is shown once on page 6, step 3, but then it disappears and I don't know if it should stay on the interior or the exterior of the piece.

Any help is appreciated.

Got a problem. I have an Effectiv office desk I purchased about 8 years ago. I now would like to get a pull-out keyboard shelf for it. It looks like the current product is Summera and they are made for the Galant desks now. Can the current Summera keyboard shelf fit the under-desk screw hole locations on an older Effectiv desk? If not, does anyone have an older keyboard shelf they are looking to get rid of?
Thanks!
