I have a fantastic Ikea Sten...

I have a fantastic Ikea Sten shelving system for sale listed on Ebay which finishes on Sunday 12th September 2010. As you know, it is far superior and more sturdy than the current Gorm shelving unit. It comprises of a large single unit with 3 large rectangular shelves and a large corner unit with 8 corner shelves. It also has a large crate on castors. View pictures and details on ebay listed under: Ikea Sten Shelving System. I worked out that the cost of the wood alone to build this would be over £150.00, I bought it for approx £280.00 new from Ikea and it has a starting bid of £30.00 so must be worth having a look at! Happy bidding!!:)

Should I use legs with my Expedit units?

I'm moving soon and for the past...

I'm moving soon and for the past few months I've been modeling my plans for my bedroom in Google Sketchup. I've come down to the final few decisions and there's one I need help on. (If you're wondering hwy I've placed this topic in the "Workspaces" forum, even though it's my bedroom / entertainment center, it also has a workspace so that's the closest forum I could find.)

Here are the pictures:
[Without legs, a.k.a resting on the floor]

[Hovering, help me!]

Alright, so to start off the desk in the corner will be custom made. It is not made yet so if I will be adding legs to the rest I could still have it made taller. Yes, it's also based off the Galant desks. There are 2 Expedit units here: a 1x5 and a 2x4. the 1x5 is horizontal, and will be using the desk / 2x4 unit as sides instead of the included ones. The far left of the 2x4 has a thinner 1x4 unit that will be custom made and will be using the 2x4 unit as 1 side. Please keep this in mind.

So, which would look better; with or without legs? If with legs, which legs and where should I place them? Keep in mind the above, so that the units without sides are well supported.

Thanks!

(I have had it for 2 days! - and have been cautious but I expect it to take some wear!) - I am really disappointed. I called Ikea and they said they had no other complaints regarding this and perhaps it was just a faulty coating on my particular desk - trying to figure out my options - can't imagine what my desk will look like in a month!!!!

Firstly, does anyone know if an Xbox 360 and a PS3 can fit on the shelves on the right hand of the desk? The Xbox 360's width is 31cm, and the PS3 is 29cm. If anyone knows of any online documents that clearly details the desk's individual component sizes, that would also be very helpful!

Secondly, does anyone know if you can change the sides which these shelves are attached? i.e Can you have The two shelves on the left hand side of the desk as opposed to the right?

Any help is greatly appreciated, cheers peeps!
