Hi.
Says my former landlord to my husband: "Wow. She really likes Ikea."
Yeah, I do.:D
My husband and I bought a house this fall, a house with a hideous (and completely unusable) kitchen. We are now in the process of remodeling. We demo'd, fixed up the walls and laid a new tile floor, and today....we finally hung our first cabinet. Actually we hung three!!! I'm was very excited to find this site with all it's helpful hints. I'm looking forward to chatting with you all and showing off pics of my new kitchen soon.

Greetings! I'm having a bathroom remodeling in MD next month. I'm thinking Asian since I visited Philippines a few weeks back and fell in love with its beaches. Apart from batik designs, I'm considering having shells embedded in the flooring to give the illusion of a beach. What do you think?

I just joined the site. I'm new to...

I just joined the site. I'm new to Ikea. My wife took me for the first time earlier in the summer and I've been back 2 times since. We just bought a house and the kitchen is tiny and lacks counter space. So we decided to bust a hole in the wall that goes to the garage and I'm building an enclosed area that I will recess the fridge into.

Then we are going us use the space where the fridge was to put a Varde series base cabinet. Above that we will be hanging some Grundtal shelves. The shelves are the reason that I came here. Can someone point me to the direction of some information about hanging hardware for the Grundtal shelves? I don't them falling down. :)

Thanks
Tim

i've bought many things from ikea and have been impressed witht he efficiency and quality of all the items. now however i've hit a snag. i bought two senior cast iron pans. the instructions said to "boil 25cl of milk and 1tbs vegetable oil" ..."Then rinse in hot water..." i did as instructed and had a mess of stuck on milk which would not come off with only water so had to use some salt. i've had cast iron pans before so knew to use salt. but i find the pan is sticking does anybody know what i'm doing wrong. do i need to reseason the pans as we did years ago? i'd appreciate your help.

Hello, I am new to this forum, but...

Hello, I am new to this forum, but not new to IKEA products. When I moved out into my own place, my first stop was to IKEA. Little by little, my apartment started looking like one of the pages inside an IKEA catalog.

9 years and a few moves later, I still own the same IKEA furniture and have expanded my family and my stuff. Yesterday, I went to IKEA to expand my entertainment unit to house a larger TV. It's 52" DLP TV that was handed down from my parents. I did all the measurements and all I need was a few pieces to extend my entertainment center to fit the larger TV.

Sad to say, my furniture is so old that none of the employees that worked at IKEA has ever seen it before. It's about 8 years old and I don't even know what IKEA called the furniture at that time.

I am looking for some help...

Can you determine the name of the furniture below?

Do you know where I can get the silver ladder brace that holds the shelves and cabinets?

Also, looking for additional hooks that is needed to add another shelf.

Thanks so much! Here is an old picture of the furniture in question in my apartment 7 years ago.

Dear IKEA friends,I am working on a project for one of my classes at college and really need your help. The project is on different roles that are created during conflicts in user communities. If you can think of an example it would be really great if you could answer some of the questions below for me. What was the conflict about? How many users were involved?Who started the conflict? Was is one person or a group? How long did it take until the initiator had convinced more people? How many people did he manage to convince? Only a few? Or even the whole community? What did the rest of the community say, did they know about it? Were they neutral or did they argue against the idea?Did the company (in our case IKEA) react to the conflict? If yes, how long did it take? Did it work or made it everything worse?Would you say this conflict has affected your community or parts of it in the long run? thanks a lot for your help in advance!!!

Hi everyone,
Maybe I'm among the few people coming from Europe on this forum.
I like Ikea as it provides some design furniture for a very nice price but I'm also interested in design more generally. I studied during 10 months in Sweden, so Scandinavian design is part of this interest of course :)
By the way, I wouldn't be surprised if Ikea designers find their inspiration in the work of renown designers, which is great, as it allows us to buy it for not too expensive!

As mentioned in the title, I'm from France and live in Paris to be more accurate.
I discovered this website as I often stumbled upon it when searching for some ikea related terms in Google.
