We're in the homestretch and need backsplash help! We had originally thought of the matte glass mosaic-- but I'm wondering whether some slate tiles (maybe 4x4s) plus some shiny glass mosaics might be better??
Jen, I think you're right. What springs to mind is THS member uxorial's beautiful backsplash:
Is that along the lines of what you were thinking? I'm thinking of something like the mix above, but incorporating some greens, and maybe some coppery colors, if they don't clash with your yellows. Eh?
If not, I can come up with others! I haven't had a good backsplooziesplat in a while...
Hrm. That's where I found it, yes...here's a direct link: http://image18.webshots.com/19/6/50/...0vEKHEL_ph.jpgEdited to say: BOY are they tight with the bandwidth! This link does not work. Maybe webshots is blocking it? I see it on my machine, but James can't see it on his. Odd.
Check the THS Finished Kitchens Blog for Uxorial's page, then click on the link for the webshots album. Man, what a pain!
the countertop is honed tropical green granite... (aka Hawaiian green granite I believe..) We really like it and it was a great price at our local tile place that sells pre-fabbed granite countertops. ($285 per 8 foot section and we needed two sections plus the fabricator-- who charged $1000).
Any other ideas? Any other colors for glass mosaics? I think the only constraint is that I can't have subway tiles since the glass doors are so "square" ;-)
Oh, I love the basket weave. Absolutely my favorite pattern! I like the ones you chose...I particularly like the second one. I think the top one would contrast too highly with the cabinets.
Have you also looked at Maestro Mosaics? I haven't been there in a while, but they always have great stuff. Don't let the "no prices listed" thing scare you, they're not that bad. Comparatively.
