Hi All -
Throwing this out there in case anyone has a tidbit or idea:

I have not been able to upload ANY files since my very first upload on Oct. 24. That night, I used the "Manage Attachments" button to upload three .FPF planner files. Everything went smoothly, and that was that.

Since then, I can't upload anything - FPF, GIF, JPG are the ones I've tried. I get error messages when I attempt any option -- "Manage Attachments", "Upload to Gallery" at the bottom of the smileys, or even the "Galleries - Upload Picture form". I've tried 4 different times, over the last week, using 2 different computers (home and work).

I thought there might be something weird with the JPG or GIF images, since I converted them from BMP using Photoshop CS; but I haven't touched the FPF files. I even re-downloaded the Planner last night (Nov 1st) in case of corruption, but still no go.

Anyone have any tips/suggestions/commiserations?

I'll alert the management! I'm sure it's something relatively simple. In the meantime, you can email the pix to Susan or James or me if you like and we can get them uploaded for you.

I hope I have some time this weekend to organize. I need to email myself FPF files from work to home.

The first time i got upload errors, I thought : "ah, server maintenance". Then, when it didn't work again, I thought "ah, this machine/connection here at work". The third time, I thought "ah, maybe I'm doing something really idiotically wrong", so investigated all the upload options. The 4th time, I just decided to call it a day, email the support people, post a thread, and give up.

The upload screen is on a popup ... if you have an overly agressive popup blocker, perhaps that's the issue ...

Sorry for the delay in addressing this issue - we were out of town yesterday (College Park IKEA - YAY!), and had the loverly experience of puking children in the car coming and going. By the time we had everyone settled, there was little to no mental energy left for troubleshooting.

Rubrik - has someone been able to help you upload yet? If not, please send the files to James @ ikeafans.com and we'll upload for you and then proceed with troubleshooting the problem. Thanks in advance for your patience!

EvaPerconti replied and also offered to post if I email my files to her or other moderators, so I'll try that.

It was three different file types (FPF, JPG, GIF) over 4 different days from two different computers (work & home), via Firefox 2.0.0.8 (browser of choice) so I really don't think it's something inherent in one machine (but then.. you never know. They might both be weird... it's happened.)

I'll try again but with disabling the popup blocker, Narf. It *might very possibly* be a contributing factor.

I wouldn't be so confused if it -hadn't- worked the first time, you know? ;^)

Um.. sorry about the puking in the car. *sigh* Probably the 10-second warning, too, right? Just enough time to realize what's about to happen.

Let me know if you're still seeing the same problem?

If you'd like, I can try resetting your password and logging in under your account to see if I can upload? That would clarify whether it's an account issue or something with the local configuration, I haven't been able to find anything associated with your account that should be causing any problems, but ::shrug:: it's the problems you *don't* see that are the tough ones.

Firefox 2.0.0.8 is my main browser as well, so that's another possibility shot... Hrrm...

We certainly appreciate your patience and clear communication, you probably be shocked at what a lot of people say if they have a problem, Susan gets the most appalling emails every day .

At the very least, I can certainly upload them for you if you want to email me a copy?

Yes, still seeing the same problem:
"File too large or wrong file type/MIME/etc. " blah blah blah from the Galleries section;

And this is what I get from "Manage Attachments"
"Penin_pullout.fpf:
Upload of file failed."

I've just tried the .FPF files -- I don't do any post-processing to them, & they're already small.

This latest upload try was from my work machine, FF 2.0.09, with "Disable Popup Blocker" checked (ie - allow popups). Nothing funky.

If you want to log into my account and mess around, go ahead.

Yeah, sorry about the delay... Life sort of got in the way there a bit.

Ok... While we struggle with the perversity of computer systems large and small Susan sent me copies of the files (she couldn't open them on *her* laptop either! I think it's a digital conspiracy... ::creepy music:: ) so I'll upload the fpfs here and put the images in the gallery.

Dunno about Susan not being able to open on her laptop. Really... they're just JPGs. <snort>

I'll keep trying uploads intermittently, and keep you apprised.
