there's no other way to say this.

you have to create sub-forums for 'got questions?'. you just have to. the majority of questions in here are about kitchens. i completely respect the need for folks redoing their kitchens to post questions, but why aren't these same-said questions moved to a 'got questions?' or 'planning 101' or 'ikea kitchens 101' sub-forum in 'plan & design' or 'kitchen planning tools'? what the hay? i don't care if a general 'got questions?' sub-forum has only three questions about rugs. i'm just tired of seeing so much kitchen stuff everywhere.

*amok* - i just wanted to get that in there 'cause i like the way sjp said it in that movie eons ago - "amok! amok! amok!"

regards,

karen

Hi Karen!

Thanks for your feedback! We are always looking for ways to improve the site, and we'll definitely try to streamline things in the Got Questions forum. One of my jobs is to move the questions to more appropriate forums, but we generally do that from the last pages forward. With 90 pages of questions, it is taking a while!

Re: there's no other way to say this.

Hey Karen,

Actually "Got Questions" was *created* to try and help deal with that problem. In the lack of an obvious place to post a question we had many, many people posting in essentially random forums. Unfortunately it's really hard to keep up with them all.

As Eva mentioned, we're always working on ways to improve the site, and there's a few things coming down the pike that we hope will let us consolidate things a bit more as well as provide a bit more direction to new members so that they have an easier time finding the right location to ask their questions.

It would be lovely if we actually were the large organization that many folks seem to think we are, but really Susan and I are *it* for IKEAFANS itself and we're currently swamped with working on the next version of the site.

The VAST majority of the admin on the site is done by wonderful volunteers such as Eva (and all the other marvelous Moderators and Mentors) who all do things in their spare time out of the sheer goodness of their heart .

That said, we'd love to hear your suggestions if you have a specific ideas? I'd be afraid that adding sub forums to "Got Questions" would just confuse the issue and we'd end up with posts all over the place again because new members didn't know where to put them .

James

Proving, perhaps once and for all, that there are in fact other ways to say things.
