Prices in
Greece
are comparable to prices in
Cyprus
, which is also a franchise and are higher than those in other countries that use the Euro.
The excuse here, for most things, is that Cyprus is an island and we have to cover the additional cost of everything coming here by sea.
It almost sounds reasonable until you think that most IKEA stuff is made in Eastern Europe which isn't exactly a long way from us and anything that is made in China is quite likely to come up the Suez canal and sail straight past us!
Pricing all started to go wrong when we switched to the Euro and the profiteering started, but that is a discussion for another forum!
