As Ikea decided to stop selling the Broder Tool Panels and accessories I was wondering if there are any other metal Tool Panels that will fit the Broder posts?
I'm sure there's something somewhere which could be made to fit... unfortunately I don't have any direct answer. I know there are several styles of panels used for garage walls. It's likely one of these could just be bolted to the BRODER uprights.
Does anyone know what Ikea plans for the Broder line? Yesterday my local store was out of the long shelf brackets. I talked to the clerk and he said there were only 4 of them available in the western US. Combined with the fact that they have stopped selling some useful modules, it sounds a little ominous. A modular system isn't much use if you can't buy modules for it. I like the product line but if they are letting it die I don't want to make a commitment to that system.
I don't have an answer. It seems that parts for systems become "rare" both when that system is being discontinued, when it's just being re-designed, or when they're changing factories.
It *is* still featured in both the catalogue and the website -- I've found that when something is really being discontinued it's pulled from the website, and there's no mention in the (new) catalog.
You *can* purchase brackets etc. on-line from the website.
I just have been looking for compatible pieces to a shelving system (non IKEA) I bought about 10-12 yrs. ago... *sigh* not available.
