Akurum in the laundry room, questions, ordering next week

Hi,

I wondered if anyone might be interested in seeing my plan for my laundry room. I'd love some feedback!

http://kitchenplanner.ikea.com/US/UI...SharedDesign=1

In addition to what you can see in the plan, we will have a section of counter over the w /d, and I'm contemplating using the Antonius system on the wall above the w/d but will decide about that later.

This is for new construction. I'm intending to use the cabinets under the window for sorting. Here are my questions:

Can you put two 18" full-height pull-outs in one 36' base? Cheaper that way. I was then hoping to find upright laundry baskets (maybe even 2 per pullout) for sorting. OR

Are there roll-outs for the 36"? Then I could use more standard laundry baskets. OR

Is my best option just plain ol' shelves, open the doors and slide them in? Seems not as convenient as each one would have to be pulled out individually, i.e. not all open to access at once for sorting.

For the corner cab, I was thinking of cutting down the shelves to fit only the blind part and could stuff little-used and probably never-to-be-seen again items back there while maintaining the space behind the door for more laundry baskets (another roll-out or pullout? concerned about the clearance to the adjacent sink cab).

I have to say I have not thoroughly researched using Akurum in the laundry room. I have spent most of my time on the kitchen!

Thanks, y'all!

Yep, you can absolutely create two pullouts in one larger cab. Takes a bit of hacking: you'll buy the partition piece meant to hang from the upper parts of a drawer set and you'll attach it projecting upward from the bottom of the cab, in the middle (you'll have to drill your own holes). Now you have somewhere to attach the inner rails for your two pullout drawers. You'll buy two deep inner drawer sets and two 18" DOORS, plus the kit for inner drawers and pullouts. All that remains is to find something pretty vertical that can sit in the drawers you've just created. Have fun!

NBeth, Thanks for the reply! I thought I had read that this was possible in the 36" cab. I think the Container Store has some tall, skinny laundry baskets. Guess I need to start seeking those out in earnest.
