My local IKEA doesn't stock these, so I have not been able to see them IRL. I'll have an opportunity to pick some up this weekend, but have some questions first.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to hook up two of the puck lights (two Tjugofyra) and two of the strip lights (Trettitioen) together to the same transformer, or are their connections different?

Do the puck lights give off a fairly generalized lighting, or is it more 'straight down' or 'cone' shaped lighting?

If one connects the strips together in an L or straight run, can one then install more than 4 strips to one transformer?

TIA
Martine

I just had one set of each light installed last night. I think you are asking about these below lights, correct?

TJUGOFYRA
multipurpose lighting
$34.99

TRETTIO
multipurpose lighting
$14.99

I am drawing from my memory now since I am in the office now.

Trettio has a large transformer, and its cable run has three connectors one for each light. I used only 2 (one for each glass cab) and left one unused. At the end of the cable, there is a plug to go into the wall receptacle.

TJUGOFYRA comes with a much smaller connector with 4 small plugs. You plug in the 4 smalls lights into it. I have these installed under my wall cab. At the end of the cable, there is also a plug that I have it plugged into the same receptacle with the other plug.

I do not believe you can string them all together on one cable since the way they connect to their connectors are different. I also do not believe you can connect the same two kinds of light on the same cable since each cable has just the number of open connectors that come with the same package.

But, I could be wrong. I will need to go home an look at them carefully.

fh2000, are the LED pucks bright enough to be decent undercabinet lighting? What spacing do you have between them?

vmole,

In my opinion, the LED lights (firstset from my post)are not bright enough as task lights. I have them 15" apart. They emit very little heat. I had them on all night till this morning, and when I put my hands over, I can barely feel the heat. I assume they draw very little power too.

The light is blueish and looks pretty. They are almost flat with no profilewhich is why Ilike them. I really do not need undercab lights in my very small kitchen. Since my family room is open to the kicthen and I watch movies via my projector with all lights off. My kidsrun into the kitchen for snacks and need to turn on the lights. This way, I can have the LED lights on while Ienjoy my movie and kids can run in and out without disturbing me.

If I read you right, they would make a good 'night light' type of lighting? Excellent!

They are a good nightlight. Good characterization. I wish they were a bit more powerful as an in cabinet display light, but well...there you have it. More nightlightish.
