I'm usually the clamp as well... HOWEVER, DH got a table saw for his birthday! He gotthis one(Sears Item#00924885000)which has telescoping arms and for $200 I'm wondering why we didn't get it while we were in the midst of the remodel!

Anyway, thought I'd mention it and that so far he loves it!

You girls need to get you husbands a nice assortment of clamps for Christmas. The risks you take playing the 'clamp'- you don't even know!!!

lol, stacylou! We've lived in this house for 7 years now, have done EXTENSIVE remodeling, and I still don't have my workshop set up!!! (at least I have a pretty respectable assortment of tools, even if I don't have them set up just right...)

Rob, I hear you and that's a valid comment. My DS has a nice assortment of clamps (and growing), but sometimes, the cuts don't lend themselves to anything but the human variety. And no worries, we're always very careful. About the risks: I do know: I've been with worker's comp for 20+ years and you don't want to know what I've seen.

About buying tools before or during the renos: we worked it out before we started in on the hardwood and saved enough money by buying our own compressor to buy it again by the time we were done.

And Rob, a DS isn't always a hubby .
