Well, Ikea fan friends.
After several weeks of back and forth (yes, you have to review your draft order numerous times) with my Ikean, the agreements have been signed and the order has been placed.

$7462.75 later, we have a full kitchen and laundry room order in.

Although shipping was free, Ikea has this clever little "handling fee", which is apart from the shipping.

There are many items (think accessories or small) that IKEA did not have available thru Direct. Namely, all the Grundtal items, the Nian shelf, the Antonionus line and any smaller shelves.

We wasted a few days with credit card verification because they consider the USVI as a foreign credit card.

We have been told however that the 2-3 week estimate includes that credit verification time, which is good because we wanted everything on the island by the end of the year.

Our biggest problem---all of the IKEA toll-free lines do not permit calls from the VI. So they were constantly busy. It took my Mom (in Seattle) a lot of prodding but she was able to get some folks to give her a direct number in Baltimore (their headquarters).

I will update when we are informed that our pallets are being delivered to Miami. I am so nervous!!!

Congratulations... I can remember how excited and anxious I was the day I ordered my kitchen. And again how excited I was the day all those flat-pack boxes arrived ... I hope you get your order quickly... and that you can get started with the assembly and installation when you want.

That's very exciting, but even here in the States it's a hassle getting through to IKEA. I've been calling the Frisco store about their 5" Lansa handles and they put me on hold for 10+ minutes then the line disconnects. This has only been going on for two weeks!

I wish you well, and hope everything arrives without any problems. Long distance ordering has to cause extra anxiety. Good luck with assembly. Should keep you guys busy for a few weeks :-)

Greetings - I was there Sunday and didn't see any of the 5" handles...they had the 2 larger sizes, but no shorties.

We are picking up the laundry room tomorrow and hopefully will already get a head start building boxes this weekend.

Greetings, I have 142 pieces, almost 2000 lbs being delivered today. Will take a picture once it's delivered.

Just to recap, I ordered it on 12/10, they said 2-4 weeks and it's 2 weeks and 4 days later....ohmy!

Now, to decide on a painter, granite, backsplash, YIKES!
