Smile Adel Medium Brown Stain

I need to fabricate some special trim to finish the install of our Double ovens and a wall of 80 in cabinets used as kitchen Pantry Storage. The doors and Drawers on both are Adel Medium Brown. I wish to use birch lumber to make the trim. What U.S.manufactured stain and finish would be closest to the factory finish? Minwax Cherry in an Oil Stain? Use with Pre Conditioner? I'm open to suggestions. Also, has anyone taken apart an ADEL Medium Brown Door to shorten its length? What is the best way to get the glue joints to soften-heat, pressure or cut gently into the seams? Thanks in advance. Paul

Re: Adel Medium Brown Stain

I used to have a stain that matched pretty well but IKEA tweaked the Adel Medium Brown a few years ago. Definitely use a pre-conditioner. I am surprised you can find birch stock. You would probably be fine with pine.

I used to be able to take Adel doors apart easily but in the past couple of years, I have destroyed them trying this trick. Change in manufacturing? Stronger glue?

Re: Adel Medium Brown Stain

As soon as I'm finished correcting the electrical sins of our last
hired Union Electrician I'll experiment with a heat gun on the glue joints of a ADEL Medium Brown Door. If that doesn't work I'll try the cutting blade in my Fein style vibrating tool. I should know something by next week.
