Question need advice for covering our 2x8 island

We are trying to cover an 8 foot long island and the cover panel sets flush with the cabinets. The end panels won't set flush with the back cover panel and leave a reveal on the front for the drawers (like all of our other cabinets have). Should we just butt it up so the back edges are square and no reveal on the two front sides or can anybody recommend a way to fill that gap?

Thanks so much for your help. We are trying to wrap up our kitchen (well, all but the backsplash and quartz counter tops) by Wednesday

Thanks,

Patty Hetrick
