PVC drain pipes..slip fittings...

so, my garbage disposer is approximately 15" to the left of the drain (currently just a 2" snub of galvanized sticking out of the floor.

last night i bought a collection of PVC pipe to get frm the GD to the drain.

basically, i have this p-trap...

and two pieces of "flex-n-fit" extension tube...

the extensin tubes are threaded at one end, straight on the other.

so, my plan...

connect two extension tubes together, thread onto galvanized drain pipe. stretch and curve this piece t attach to straight arm of the trap.

sounds pretty simple, right. except i CANNOT get the fitting to thread onto the ends of the extension tubes. it simple will not go on straight.

would you assume that it's just a bad tube, or am i missing something?

Re: PVC drain pipes..slip fittings...

I would assume that it's the fitting. Remember that these things are made out of cheap, thin plastic, mostly in some pretty.....er.....'non quality concious' plants in Asia. This isn't ISO 9001 stuff. Stuff generally has to be perfectly straight, and threaded correctly. Try a different male thread fitting and you might have better luck.

Well, maybe they SHOULD have been made in Asia.
