I just purchased approximately 30 sq ft of the following glass tiles:

MosaicTileSupplies.com-Modern Materials for Custom Design. 700+ styles & colors of mosaic tile at great prices.

The website's installation instructions say to use a latex-modified thinset. Can someone recommend a particular brand that I can purchase at Lowes or Home Depot. I was at Lowes tonight, and an employee told me to buy spectraset by Laticrete. However, there is nothing on the bag or on Laticrete's website stating whether the thinset is, in fact, latex-modified.

Did anyone have any luck locating an appropriate thinset at a big-box store? We got some, but I'm afraid it's the wrong stuff now. Any guidance would be appreciated!

We got ours at HD and it came in two parts: a powder in a bag and milky liquid in a big bottle, purchased separately. I just looked and I can't find them in our pile of junk or I'd give you the brands. It could be that the stuff the mosaic tile people sell is better....

Glass tile was a nightmare to put up and I'd like to blame the thinset but it was probably our lack of experience. (One thing that seemed to help was to blue tape the sheets to the wall after we got them into the right spot--they tend to slide down!) Another hint: use as little thinset as you can--and pick up some dental style picks to get the goop out from between the tiles when you inevitably use too much on some sections... The great thing is the tiles look so good they make up for your mistakes (mostly!)
