My IKEA: USA-Pittsburgh
discontinued sofabed name?

Hello Everybody!

I'm new here- I am going to intruduce myself in the proper forum right after this, I just wanted to ask it first since it's on my mind

I am moving into my sister's recently-vacated apartment, which was completely ikea-fied. Some things i'm keeping, others i'm altering, and some just aren't me and have to go, haha. One of the things that i have to keep, whether I like it or not, is the sofabed because it's too dang heavy to move out, and the people who delivered it eons ago took two hours to even figure out how to fit it in the door and down the hall.

I despise this sofa with a passion. It's uncomfortable and, well, ugly as sin. I remember when she got it that there were slipcovers available, but for the life of me I cannot find the name of it. My sis swears on all that it holy that it was Dolomon, but googling brought up nothing. I tried every variation i could think of: Dolemon, Dolamon, Doloman... etc.

Does anyone have any clue what I'm talking about? It is blue and white pinstriped with small, loose pillows on the back instead of large attached cushions; she bought it about 12 years ago. Or point me in the direction of a list of discontinued names or something? (I've googled "ikea discontinued names: etc as well, but either get back 100,000 hits or five that are spam.)

Thanks so much in advance!! And I know that even if I DO figure out the real name there is an extremely miniscule, tiny, slim chance that I'll actually find a slipcover, and I'll probably have to make one. However, I am now on a mission to figure it out and will go insane until i can at least LOOK for one.

Re: discontinued sofabed name?

Hi and welcome!

I don't know the sofa you're talking about offhand, could you possibly post a pic ?

If it's IKEA, chances are it's easy to disassemble, so you could technically just take it apart and remove it piece by piece. Most IKEA furniture uses hex key fasteners, easy enough to undo!

My philosophy is life is to short to live with an ugly sofa!
