I agree with yankeelawyer. I think it depends if you're the kind of person who likes to design your own thing (and be in control of your own thing) or someone who feels more comfortable working with a professional designer. I lurk on the Kitchen GW site and it amazes me how people with a 6 figure budget hand over the design entirely to someone else. I just have a personality that couldn't do that even with a much smaller budget! I really relished the opportunity to design my kitchen in the way that I want.

I too couldn't answer the poll because I haven't had any problems with my cabinets in the bathroom. I used kitchen cabinets in my bathroom which are now 11 years old. In the bathroom they take more abuse from the steam of hot showers. I have white doors, kind of look like raised panels but they are routed into the door, I'll take some pictures if anyone wants to see them. They look as good as new, the white finish has not faded or turned yellow, all doors are straight with not a centimeter of warping, boxes still strong. I wouldn't be happier with $10,000 cabintes. The only thing better about new cabinets is that now Ikea uses Blum hardware and at the time I installed them they didn't. But as soon as my new kitchen is finished, then comes the TV room (probably Besta cabinets) and then I'll replace the door and drawers in the bathroom for next to nothing and voila! New bathroom cabinets.
